Boy “Surfing” on Car Roof Falls Off, Run Over by Parents near Ironwood Avenue
CALIFORNIA CITY, CA (April 5, 2019) – A 10-year-old boy suffered major injuries after a “car surfing” accident on Neuralia Road.
According to the California City Police Department, the incident happened at about 4:08 PM. The boy “surfed” on the roof of his parents’ car when he tumbled off and rolled in front of the vehicle. Subsequently, the car ran over the victim and dragged him a short distance near Ironwood Avenue.
Emergency responders rushed the boy to a children’s hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The victim suffered two broken shoulders, a broken pelvis, and some fractured ribs. Recent updates also reported that the boy has internal bleeding.
No charges have been filed against the parents of the victim. An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the accident. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
