1 Hospitalized after Hesperia Car Accident
HESPERIA, CA (March 11, 2019) – A 10-year-old boy riding a bike suffered injuries in a collision with a school bus on April 10 in Hesperia.
The incident occurred at around 2:44 p.m. in the area of Fairburn Street and Peach Avenue.
According to Officer Osegueda with the Victorville CHP, the bus traveled north on Peach Avenue. Meanwhile, the male bicyclists rode east of Fairburn when the crash happened.
Reports also revealed that stops signs are only available on the eastbound and westbound traffic. The northbound and southbound direction have none.
The young bicyclist didn’t stop at the stop sign. “The juvenile proceeded into the intersection at approximately 10 miles per hour when he collided with the left side of the school bus,” the release revealed.
The boy suffered multiple fractures and face injuries. Medics also flew him to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Meanwhile, San Bernardino County Fire Helicopter H325 came to Ranchero Middle School to airlift the child to the trauma center.
No other occupants from the bus suffered injuries. The Victorville CHP currently investigates the crash. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact them at (760)241-1186.
