1 Dead in Long Beach Crash on Lei Drive

 
LONG BEACH, CA (August 17, 2020) – Saturday night, a 1-year-old boy died in a pedestrian accident on Lei Drive.
 
According to reports, the boy and his father just went out of their car outside their house at about 8:00 p.m. They were located on Lei Drive and Polynesian Drive. However, the boy went in front of the car, said the Long Beach Police Department.
 
“As the father and juvenile exited the vehicle, the father became momentarily distracted, and the juvenile ran in front of the vehicle,” Long Beach Police revealed. “The driver then pulled away from the curb, failing to see the juvenile in front of the vehicle, and subsequently striking him with a front tire.”
 
Upon the officers’ arrival, they discovered that the Long Beach Fire Department paramedics were treating the boy.
 
Afterward, they transported the child to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the patient succumbed to his injuries. Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed the name of the child.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and helped with the investigation. The police didn’t arrest him. At this time, the officers also didn’t provide details about the car service the driver worked for.
