Injuries Reported in Malaga Auto Accident on West Malaga Road
MALAGA, WA (April 25, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, a student suffered injuries in a rear-end crash on West Malaga Road.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 12:15 p.m. on West Malaga Road. School district spokeswoman Diana Haglund confirmed that the Wenatchee School District bus fully stopped to pick up a student. The driver activated its amber lights. However, a driver rear-ended the bus.
The bus has six students from Pioneer Middle School. Meanwhile, responders transported the injured student with back pain to Central Washington Hospital.
Chelan County Sheriff’s Chief of Operations Jason Reinfeld said that the involved car was a 2003 Buick LeSabre. Moreover, a 73-year-old male Malaga resident drove the Buick. Also, responders took him through an ambulance.
The incident led to the closure of Malaga Road at Riviera Boulevard for around two hours during the investigation.
