BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 27, 2019) – A man sustained injuries after a big rig hit him on 5 Freeway on December 19.
 
The CHP revealed that the man traveled south on 5 Freeway when he collided onto the shoulder of the road, north of Rowlee Road at 12:15 a.m.
 
According to some witnesses, he drove at 90 mph. The car drove off the road. When he went out of his vehicle, he walked towards the center median to the shoulder of the highway. However, a semi-truck hit him at 12:24 a.m.
 
The man sustained a head injury.
 
The authorities also said that he sustained blunt force trauma to his body. They also ruled out drugs and alcohol as a factor in the collision.
