1 Hospitalized after Petaluma Car Crash on Highway 116
PETALUMA, CA (May 17, 2020) – Late Thursday afternoon, a person suffered serious injuries in a two-car accident on Highway 116.
The California Highway Patrol revealed that the crash occurred at about 5:34 p.m. on Lakeville Highway, also known as Highway 116 near Pine View Way.
According to police reports, a white box truck was heading east on Lakeville Highway. However, it crashed with a silver Lexus SUV that was making an exit on Pine View Way.
The box truck then hit the driver’s side front fender of the Lexus. Due to the impact, the driver of the Lexus sustained major injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The surrounding area on Highway 116 was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary investigation. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
