Stockton, CA (December 24, 2024) – A car fatally struck a man Sunday night in a tragic crash on Highway 99.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 99, north of Armstrong Road. 

A man driving a silver Toyota Sienna was heading southbound when he encountered a pedestrian walking on the highway. 

The driver struck the man, who died at the scene from his injuries.

CHP stated it remains unclear why the man was on the highway or whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
