1 Dead in Rio Rancho Vehicle Crash on NM 528 and Pasilla Road

RIO RANCHO, CA (October 21, 2024) – Saturday night, a person died in a brutal T-bone accident on NM 528 and Pasilla Road.

The incident occurred at 5:05 p.m. on NM 528 and Pasilla Road.

“Preliminary investigation, although not complete, indicates that one of the two vehicles involved was traveling east on Pasilla and attempted to cross all lanes of travel of SR 528 to continue east into River’s Edge; speed does not appear to be a factor as of now,” said Gabe Salgado of the RRPD.

A female passenger died due to a medical episode believed to be unrelated to the crash. The male driver was taken to the hospital with injuries from the accident and is in critical condition.

Next of kin notifications are currently underway.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
