Fatality Reported in El Monte Accident on Santa Anita Avenue and Valley Boulevard
EL MONTE, CA (March 11, 2021) – Wednesday night, a person died in a fiery head-on crash on Santa Anita Avenue and Valley Boulevard.
The incident happened at around 7:15 p.m., said El Monte Police Department Lt. Christopher Cano. Moreover, it happened on Santa Anita Avenue, north of Valley Boulevard.
According to Cano, a southbound Toyota 4Runner drove across the center median. Then, it crashed with a northbound Cadillac sedan before catching fire.
As a result, the driver of the 4Runner succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, medical responders transported a family of four inside the Cadillac to a hospital for minor injuries.
Moreover, the authorities closed Santa Anita Avenue through early morning between Valley Boulevard and Bryant Road during the investigation.
