Fatality Reported in Bakersfield Auto Accident on Interstate 5 and Stockdale Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 20, 2021) – Friday morning, a person died in a crash on Interstate 5 and Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield.
 
According to reports, the incident happened at about 5:56 a.m., north of the Kern County Raceway Park. It happened on northbound Interstate 5, south of Stockdale Highway.
 
The crash involved one big rig and a Dodge Charger.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP confirmed that the vehicle traveled south. Then, for an unknown reason, it drove across the center divider into the northbound traffic.
 
Afterward, the vehicle slid under the northbound big rig’s rear.
 
Eventually, the vehicle caught on fire after colliding and the driver suffered fatal injuries/
 
The incident also reduced the lanes into one lane.
 
Thus, the authorities advised drivers to exit before Stockdale. Furthermore, the involved truck carried between 35-40 pounds of solar panels.
