1 Hospitalized in Seattle Pedestrian Accident on Southwest Andover Street and Delridge Way
SEATTLE, WA (February 16, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a person sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on Southwest Andover Street and Delridge Way.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. It occurred on Southwest Andover Street and Delridge Way Southwest.
Moreover, reports revealed that an officer attempted to pullover an RV after failing to stop at a red light from several blocks away.
An officer approached the RV after it appeared to stop. However, the RV reversed and collided with an SUV, then a tanker before hitting a 79-year-old pedestrian. Afterward, the driver fled the scene after the incident but was arrested moments later.
Officers said that the 44-year-old female driver of the SUV was hurt but was treated at the scene and did not have to go to the hospital.
Also, responders transported the 79-year-old pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
The causing driver, a 47-year-old man, had a felony warrant for theft of a motor vehicle, domestic violence-related assault, and reckless endangerment.
Authorities also found narcotics on the causing driver and were being investigated for driving under the influence.
Officers revealed that the suspect was booked into the King County Jail on suspicion of illegal possession of narcotics, eluding, vehicular assault, hit-and-run, and his outstanding warrants.
