Motorcyclist Hospitalized after Crash on Highway 99 in Chico

Chico, CA (June 7, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, one person sustained injuries in a crash on Highway 99 involving a motorcycle and a Ford pickup.

The crash on Highway 99 happened around 3:30 p.m. on June 7.

CHP said a Ford pickup was driving on Highway 99 going southbound when the driver attempted to make a lane switch and struck a motorcyclist riding southbound. 

The back left of the pickup truck struck the motorcyclist, who was then ejected from the bike, where they sustained significant injuries. 

EMS transported the motorcyclist to the hospital. 

The pickup driver sustained minor injuries and minor damage to their truck. 

CHP does not believe the influence of drugs or alcohol played a role in this accident.

Further investigation is ongoing.
