Woman Hospitalized After Crash on South Bay Boulevard in Morro Bay

Morro Bay, CA (October 17, 2024) – On Thursday afternoon, a woman sustained injuries in a crash on South Bay Boulevard.

Reportedly, a crash near Morro Bay on Thursday afternoon sent a woman to the hospital and caused two vehicles to tumble off the side of the road, according to the Morro Bay Police Department. 

At approximately 2:58 p.m., a woman driving a sedan northbound on South Bay Boulevard turned left onto State Parks Road, crossing into the path of a southbound pickup truck, Sgt. Grant Hasselbach told The Tribune. 

The truck collided with the passenger side of the sedan.

The impact pushed the sedan into a nearby ravine, and the truck, which was towing a gravel-filled trailer, also went off the road. 

Hasselbach noted the additional weight of the trailer contributed to the truck’s fall. The sedan’s driver was injured and taken to the hospital.

Hasselbach also mentioned that a similar accident had occurred at this intersection the previous week, highlighting that the area is now under closer observation.
