The authorities received a report of a hit-and-run crash at about 5:30 p.m.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a driver struck a pedestrian. It happened at the intersection of Texas Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. As a result, the pedestrian suffered major injuries.
