CHP Investigates Crash on Highway 26 in Calaveras County

Calaveras County, CA (December 27, 2024) – CHP investigates a series of crashes including the crash on Highway 26 injuring one patient.

In Tuolumne County, the CHP reported that a sedan slid off Big Hill Road near Sawmill Flat Road and into a ditch at 11:07 a.m. It remains unclear if anyone was injured.

Earlier, at approximately 10:30 a.m., two vehicles collided on Highway 108 near Tulloch Dam Road. 

A tow truck is en route to clear the scene, and traffic is moving through the area without significant delays. No notable injuries have been reported from this incident.

In Calaveras County, at 11:15 a.m., an SUV veered off Highway 26 near Buckeye Road outside Mokelumne Hill and struck a tree. 

Emergency responders, including an ambulance, are on their way to assist a patient at the scene.

Officials urge drivers to allow extra time for travel and exercise caution during the rainy conditions.
