Stockton Man Killed in Sacramento Accident on Highway 99

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (April 29, 2021) – On Saturday, a person died in a vehicle crash on Highway 99 near Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, it all started when a male motorcyclist rode a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Then, the rider lost a saddlebag on southbound Highway 99, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
 
Reports revealed that the rider pulled over into the center median to retrieve the saddlebag located in the number 1 lane. However, a vehicle struck the bag and spilled its content before the rider could retrieve it.
 
Furthermore, a 2002 Toyota Corolla struck the motorcyclist wearing a helmet. The force of the crash carried the rider into the hood of the Toyota and through the windshield.
 
Moreover, after the first crash, a 2006 Honda Civic rear-ended. Afterward, a 2007 Mercedes GL450 crashed into the Civic.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the driver of the Toyota and the motorcyclist to a hospital with major injuries. The other drivers involved suffered minor injuries.
 
Reports revealed that the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on April 27.
 
The Sacramento accident on Highway 99 is under active investigation.
