1 Killed and 2 Hospitalized in Los Gatos Auto Accident on Black Road near Highway 17
LOS GATOS, CA (July 8, 2021) – Monday morning, a person died in a sewage truck crash on Black Road near Highway 17.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Ross Lee, the incident happened at around 8:00 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on Black Road near Highway 17.
Reports revealed that the sewage truck driver lost control of the vehicle and veered across the frontage road. Then, it collided with a concrete berm. The truck overturned and struck a southbound pickup truck and a passenger car, spilling sewage on the street.
Furthermore, responders pronounced the male driver of the pickup truck in his 30’s dead at the scene. Paramedics transported the tanker driver and a passenger of the car to an area hospital for treatment.
Moreover, the crash shuts down the key commuter and tourist route to Santa Cruz and other coastal communities. All lanes have long since reopened.
Meanwhile, Los Gatos Police Department, Santa Clara County Fire, CalFire, and CalTrans all responded to the scene to provide aid.
