1 Killed and 1 Injured in Madera County Auto Accident on Avenue 15 near Road 29

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (July 28, 2021) – Tuesday night, a person died and another person sustained injuries after a head-on crash on Avenue 15 near Road 29.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 9:15 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on eastbound Avenue 15, east of Road 29.
 
Reports revealed that a westbound Hyundai Elantra traveled on the eastbound lanes. Then, it collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup. The 41-year-old male Chevrolet driver from Madera tried to avoid the collision. He swerved to the left but failed to avoid the crash.
 
Furthermore, responders pronounced the Hyundai driver, a woman in her 20s, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Hyundai driver to Community Regional Medical Center via helicopter with major injuries.
 
Also, authorities said that it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
