1 Dead in Baldwin Park Train Accident
BALDWIN PARK, CA (December 11, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a Metrolink train on December 8 in Baldwin Park.
According to Metrolink spokesman Paul Gonzales, the incident occurred after 7:30 p.m. west of Merced Avenue and not at a crossing.
As a result of the crash, the tracks were closed in the area. The train that was supposed to arrive in downtown San Bernardino around 9:00 p.m., the train 372 was held at the El Monte station. It was reported that the train was occupied by 196 passengers. Alternative transportation was being organized by the Metrolink for the passengers.
Meanwhile, the train that hit the pedestrian was Train 377 with 80 passengers. Based on the Metrolink’s schedule, the train left San Bernardino at 6:25 p.m. and at 8:15 p.m., it will arrive at Union Station in Los Angeles.
