Motorcycle Rider Dies in Collision on North Nevada Street Near East Euclid Avenue

 
Spokane, WA (August 21, 2020) –  On Wednesday, a motorcyclist died when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into another vehicle on North Nevada Street.
 
The Spokane Police Department said they receive a report of a vehicle versus motorcycle crash on North Nevada Street near East Euclid Avenue. Witnesses said that the rider is not moving after the collision.
 
Immediately, police quickly gave the rider life-saving measures when they arrive.
 
Subsequently, the Spokane Fire Department took over the scene and pronounced the rider dead.
 
Police did a preliminary investigation and spoke with eyewitnesses. Ultimately, they concluded that speed and improper braking is the reason for the crash.
 
SPD said that the driver of the other vehicle is cooperative and stayed on the scene. Intoxication or driving under the influence is not a factor, police say.
 
Additionally, police say that the helmet the rider was wearing is not up to the Department of Transportation standards.
