1 Dead in Yakima Car Crash
YAKIMA, WA (February 4, 2020) – A man died in a single-vehicle car crash on 18th Street on January 31.
A 39-year-old Yakima man drove north on 18th Street at speeds around 100 miles per hour while passing cars around 10:50 a.m.
When he reached a curve, he turned into Pacific Avenue and left the roadway. The vehicle then rolled into the Yakima Speedway parking lot.
The man became was ejected following the impact. Authorities later pronounced him dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries.
Authorities believed that excessive speed played a role in the crash. More information will soon be released.
