1 Dead in Nipomo Auto Accident on Highway 101 and Willow Road

 
NIPOMO, CA (September 2, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, a person died after a semi-truck crash on Highway 101 and Willow Road.
 
The truck traveled at 4/21 p.m. on Highway 101 when it went off the road and struck the guardrail.
 
During the crash, the construction fell off the trailer and fell around 30 feet from Highway 101. It landed onto a white Cadillac Escalade on the Willow Road off-ramp below. The incident killed the driver.
 
“A big-rig vehicle that had an excavator on the trailer made contact with the guardrail for unknown reasons,” said Cal Fire public affairs officer Adan Orozco. “The escavator left that trailer, rolled down the embankment onto the off-ramp at Willow Road and it landed on top of the SUV.”
 
As the CHP and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office investigate the scene, they shut down one northbound lane of Highway 101. The closure was at the Willow Road exit in Nipomo.
 
Also, the crash damaged a third vehicle, a black sedan.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified the number of parties involved in the. Rash.
 
Also, three heavy tow trucks responded to remove the wreckage.
