1 Dead in Santa Rosa Pedestrian Accident on US 101 and State Route 20

 
SANTA ROSA, CA (January 13, 2022) – Monday night, a person died in a pedestrian crash on US 101 and State Route 20.
 
The incident happened at around 6:40 p.m. on US 101 and State Route 20. According to reports, a 53-year-old Santa Rosa man walked south on US 101 along the west roadway edge. Reports confirmed that he wore dark clothing at the time of the incident.
 
Meanwhile, a 39-year-old Windsor resident drove a 2013 Subaru on US 101, southbound, in the number 2 lane of traffic.
 
Then, the Subaru’s right front hit the pedestrian. The impact threw the pedestrian down a dirt embankment.
 
After the crash, the driver immediately reported the incident to 911. Then, the driver looked for the pedestrian and advised arriving emergency personnel to the victim’s location.
 
However, the pedestrian succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
Also, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.
 
Moreover, the authorities continue to investigate the crash. At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
