OXNARD, CA (June 19, 2024) – Sunday night, an assaulted man died in a brutal pedestrian crash on 300 E Hueneme Road and Saviers Road.

The incident happened at about 9:00 p.m. in the 300 block of E Hueneme Road, east of Saviers Road.

The Oxnard Police Department responded to multiple calls reporting a fight among several people. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man lying in the roadway, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased, estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, has not yet been identified.

According to witness accounts, the man was assaulted by several individuals who left him on the road, where he was subsequently struck by at least two vehicles. The drivers involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. It is currently unclear if additional vehicles may have also hit the man.

As a result of the incident, East Hueneme Road was closed between Saviers Road and Arcturus Avenue from approximately 10:40 p.m. Sunday until 8:50 a.m. Monday.
