One Fatality in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 80 near Kellogg Drive
Baldwin, CA (April 23, 2020) – Sunday late evening, one unidentified individual was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near Kellogg Drive.
The California Highway Patrol received crash reports at around 11:19 p.m., on April 19, occurring on Interstate 80 near Kellog Drive. First responders arrived shortly after.
When responders arrived, they located four vehicles across the westbound lanes, blocking the freeway. Further investigation revealed that the accident involved a white Audi SUV, a white Toyota RAV4 which immediately fled the scene, and another unknown vehicle.
Moreover, the witness says that after the collision, a white Nissan Frontier hit unknown debris while trying to drive through the compromised lanes then crashing into the center divider.
The traffic was diverted away from the scene at the 57 during cleanup and preliminary duties. It has since re-opened by 2:30 a.m.
Furthermore, authorities consider this accident as a possible hit and run. An investigation for this remains active.
