1 Dead in Stockton Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 120
STOCKTON, CA (February 27, 2020) – A person died in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 120 on February 25.
The California Highway Patrol revealed that the three-vehicle crash occurred in Stockton just before 7:30 a.m. on Highway 120, west of French Camp Road.
The investigators stated that a 60-year-old man drove a Chevrolet SUV westbound on the highway. However, for unidentified reasons, he made a left turn directly into the path of an eastbound Freightliner truck tractor.
The 29-year-old driver of the Freightliner crashed with the SUV head-on. The impact sent it towards a Hyundai that following the SUV.
As a result, the Chevrolet’s driver died at the scene of the crash, CHP revealed.
Meanwhile, responders transported the 21-year-old female driver and the 7-year-old boy in the Hyundai to a local hospital for treatment. CHP officials also noted that the juvenile sustained major injuries.
Moreover, the truck tractor’s driver didn’t require hospitalization.
Some of the photos taken from the scene showed the Freightliner’s wrecked front chassis tilted on a broken front axle.
The authorities are still investigating the collision. The detectives already ruled out alcohol and drugs as a factor in the collision.
