1 Dead in San Jose Multi-Vehicle Accident on Alum Rock Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (November 27, 2019) – A person died in a multi-vehicle accident on Alum Rock Avenue on November 26.
The three-vehicle, hit-and-run traffic crash, occurred at 10:12 p.m. on Alum Rock Avenue and Jackson Avenue, Officer Gina Tepoorten said.
Tepoorten revealed that an eastbound 1999 Honda sedan on Alum Rock Avenue struck a northbound 2016 Tesla on Jackson Avenue. The Honda then steered into the westbound lanes of Alum Rock Avenue and struck a 2019 Dodge Durango.
After the crash, the Honda driver escaped the scene and is still at large. Meanwhile, the Dodge and Tesla drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The San Jose Fire Department crews extricated two male passengers in the Honda. They took them to a hospital and one of them succumbed to injuries while the other suffered life-threatening injuries.
As a result, the Alum Rock Avenue and Jackson Avenue will remain closed until 6:00 a.m.
Meanwhile, they descrived the Honda driver as a Hispanic man in his 40s with a thin build. He wore a red jersey during the crash.
