1 Dead in Visalia Motorcycle Collision on Avenue 309
VISALIA, CA (June 3, 2019) – A man died in a motorcycle and pickup truck collision on Avenue 309 May 30.
The collision occurred on Avenue 309 and Highway 216 near Cutler Park. CHP officer Ed Flynn revealed that a westbound motorcycle driver struck a woman driving a pickup turning left onto eastbound Highway 216.
Mary Taylor reportedly violated the motorcycle’s right of way when she turned left. Furthermore, the 21-year-old male motorcycle driver attempted to avoid the pickup before he crashed.
As a result, the motorcyclist was ejected and sustained major injuries.
Flynn added that medics transported the rider to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. However, he died on his way to the hospital.
His identity remains unreleased as of this time due to the pending family notification.
The incident occurred at about 7:15 a.m. CHP also clarified that the unlicensed rider wore a helmet and did not have a motorcycle endorsement.
Taylor didn’t suffer any injuries.
