1 Dead in Temecula Motorcycle Accident
TEMECULA, CA (February 3, 2020) – A person died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 79 and Anza Road on January 30.
The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 79 and Anza Road, CHP Temecula spokesman Mike Lassig revealed.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a man in a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveled southeast on Highway 79 when he drove into a curve in the roadway. He didn’t safely negotiate and went across the opposing traffic. Then, a 2009 Volvo semi-truck hit him.
Emergency personnel came to the scene. However, the 34-year-old Hemet motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene
Meanwhile, the semi-truck’s driver didn’t suffer any injury.
Authorities are still investigating the collision and they haven’t ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.
The police also shut down Highway 79 in both directions and will reopen around 9:45 p.m.
