1 Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Modoc Road [Santa Barbara, CA]

Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle near Encore Drive

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (July 5, 2019) – An accident on Modoc Road claimed the life of a pedestrian, early Friday morning. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:40 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck a pedestrian near Encore Drive.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. It is unknown whether or not the driver of the vehicle remained to cooperate with investigators.
