One Dead after Head-On Crash on Gila River Indian Community
PHOENIX, AZ (October 21, 2019) – One person is dead after a head-on crash on Gila River Indian Community, Monday afternoon.
According to the Gila River Police Department, the incident happened at about 2:00 PM. Due to unknown reasons, two vehicles collided head-on near 75th Avenue and Baseline Road.
One person in the other vehicle died at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity and age of the victim, pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, a deputy from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office suffered injuries in the collision.
Gila River police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
