1 Dead in Bexar County Pedestrian Accident on US Highway 87 and FM 1516

BEXAR COUNTY, TX (September 15, 2024) – Early Saturday, a person died in a brutal pedestrian crash on US Highway 87 and FM 1516.

The incident occurred at about 12:45 a.m. on US Highway 87 eastbound and FM 1516. The China Grove Fire Department and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office came to the crash.

A male pedestrian, still unidentified, was declared dead at the scene by emergency responders. The driver reported to deputies that another vehicle suddenly swerved in front of them, prompting them to attempt an evasive maneuver. Despite this, the driver said they struck the pedestrian with the front of their car. 

After the collision, the driver mentioned that a second vehicle, a white Jeep, also hit the pedestrian before continuing east on U.S. Highway 87. 

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
