1 Killed in DUI Crash on E Truxtun Avenue [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (September 29, 2024) –  A driver of a parked vehicle was killed in a DUI crash on E Truxtun Avenue Saturday night.

The deadly two-vehicle crash happened at around 11:14 p.m. on September 28  in east Bakersfield.

Troopers said a westbound Dodge Durango slammed into a parked car on the north curb of the road. 

The driver of the parked car died while the passenger of the same vehicle was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Security officers working near the crash scene detained the driver of the Dodge Durango until the authorities arrived. 

Moreover, investigators said speed and alcohol were possible factors in the collision and the DUI driver was not injured.
