SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (December 23, 2024) – Sunday morning, a person died in a devastating 2-vehicle crash on 110 Freeway and Manchester Avenue.

The incident involving a black sedan and a gray cargo happened around 5:00 a.m. on 110 Freeway, south of Manchester Avenue.

After the initial crash, an out-of-service Metro bus hit the victim, said the Metro Los Angeles spokesman Jose Ubaldo.

“At about 5:10 this morning, an out-of-service Metro bus Line 210 heading northbound on the 110 Freeway north of Century Boulevard, struck a body that had been ejected from an earlier, non-Metro vehicle accident,” Ubaldo revealed. “Metro extends its deepest sympathies to the victim’s family and friends.”

A SigAlert was issued at 5:33 a.m., closing all northbound lanes of the freeway for about two hours. The alert was canceled at 8:16 a.m.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
