1 Dead in Baker Two-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 15 near Midwest Rest Area

 
BAKER, CA (February 13, 2023) – Saturday night, a person died in a head-on crash on Interstate 15 near Midwest Rest Area.
 
The incident happened at around 6:09 p.m. on northbound Interstate 15, about two miles after the Midway Rest Area.
 
Thus, the California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department came to the scene.
 
A preliminary investigation determined that a Cadillac SUV crashed head-on with an unknown vehicle in unclear circumstances at this time.
 
Reports said that one vehicle drove southbound through the center median. Then, it crashed into a vehicle headed northbound.
 
Meanwhile, firefighters aided all the people involved in the crash. Then, rescue crews requested two helicopters to transport those with serious injuries.
 
Mercy Air 66 Helicopter responded and airlifted a person to Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas in critical condition.
 
Then, the second helicopter was CHP #80 and transported the second person to Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas in critical condition.
 
However, one of the airlifted patients succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
