GRIDLEY, CA (January 25, 2022) – Sunday morning, a person died in a head-on crash on Highway 99 near Evans Reimer Road.
 
The incident happened at about 6:45 a.m. on Highway 99 near Evans Reimer Road.
 
According to reports, a 23-year-old Yuba City man drove a black Nissan Sentra south on Highway 99. Then, it steered into the northbound lane “for an unknown reason.” The Nissan went into the path of an oncoming semi-truck.
 
The semi-driver tried to avoid the sedan but failed. As a result, the two vehicles crashed head-on.
 
As a result, a 23-year-old Nissan passenger died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Nissan’s driver and another passenger sustained major injuries. Meanwhile, the semi-driver suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
 
Also, the incident marked the second deadly head-on crash on Highway 99 in Northern California in three days.
