SAN JOSE, CA (May 3, 2022) – Sunday night, a person died in a bicycle crash on Capitol Expressway near Tuers Road.
 
The incident happened at around 9:12 p.m. on Capitol Expressway near Tuers Road.
 
According to reports, a 2007 Nissan sedan driver traveled in the westbound lanes. Then, the driver struck a male bicyclist as the rider crossed traffic lanes from north to south.
 
As a result, the bicyclist succumbed to injuries at the scene. At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. Also, the authorities do not believe that drugs and alcohol played a role in the crash.
 
According to reports, the incident marked the 31st traffic death in the city this year. Also, it’s the fourth of a bicyclist.
