1 Dead and 8 Injured in Byron Accident on Byron Highway and Camino Diablo

 
BYRON, CA (June 16, 2022) – Wednesday night, a person died in a fiery crash on Byron Highway and Camino Diablo.
 
The incident occurred at around 5:40 p.m. on Byron Highway and Camino Diablo. According to reports, a vehicle overturned and knocked down wires with a pole fire.
 
When the crews arrived, they found a vehicle fully engulfed with fire with wires down and a pole impacted. Thus, they called for wildland fire since the vegetation caught fire estimated at 1/2 acre.
 
Officers confirmed that the crash had 8 patients. Four of them required hospitalization while the remaining were released at the scene.
 
By 6:10 p.m., officers confirmed that the crash led to a fatality. They also issued a SIGALERT as Byron Highway at Camino Diablo shut down in both directions. Moreover, 5 AMR units responded to the scene.
