SANTA ANA, CA (January 4, 2023) – Tuesday night, a person died in a pedestrian crash on 405 Freeway near MacArthur Boulevard.
 
The incident happened in the southbound lanes of 405 Freeway, near MacArthur Boulevard.
 
Reports revealed that the pedestrian ran across the southbound lanes of 405 Freeway. Then, that person jumped the center divider.
 
Then, a vehicle struck him in the HOV lanes on the northbound side of the 405 Freeway.
 
Before the crash, the man ran on the MacArthur Boulevard onramp with his hands in the air. They also noted that he walked against the flow of traffic.
 
Just after 8:30 p.m., officers issued a SigAlert for the northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway.
 
Officers confirmed that the pedestrian died in the crash.
