1 Dead in Puyallup Pedestrian Accident on 2200 South Meridian

 
PUYALLUP, WA (November 28, 2022) – Early Sunday, a person died in a pedestrian crash on 2200 South Meridian.
 
The incident happened just after 2:00 a.m. on 2200 South Meridian.
 
According to reports, a 32-year-old Tacoma man struck and killed a pedestrian. Meanwhile, responders arrived after receiving reports from the Tacoma man that he struck a car that was parked in the middle of the roadway.
 
When the police arrived, they found the Tacoma man performing CPR on the victim.
 
However, the authorities declared that person dead.
 
During the investigation, police confirmed that the Tacoma man traveled south on South Meridian when he hit the victim’s vehicle.
 
Then, the authorities arrested him on suspicion of DUI and vehicular homicide charges.
 
At this time, the investigators haven’t revealed why the vehicle was stopped in the roadway or why the man had stepped outside.
 
Meanwhile, a passenger in that vehicle, a 32-year-old woman from Tacoma, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
The Metro Cities Major Collision Response Team handles the crash investigation.
