1 Dead in Oakland Train Collision
OAKLAND, CA (January 31, 2020) – A person died in a car and train collision near 29th Avenue and 12th Street on January 29.
According to reports, the Amtrak train and vehicle collision occurred at around 9:00 p.m. near 29th Avenue and East 12th Street. When officers came to the scene, they located a vehicle several yards away from the intersection.
The man solely occupied the vehicle. Fire officials attempted to use the Jaws of Life, a rescue tool to free a person inside. Unfortunately, the emergency personnel pronounced him dead.
Authorities shut down the northbound traffic along 29th Avenue and southbound traffic at East 12th Street for the investigation.
