Teen Pronounced Dead after Ceres Auto Accident on Blaker Road
CERES, CA (March 13, 2020) – A teenager died while three others sustained injuries in a car crash on Blaker Road on March 11.
According to the Ceres Police Department, after 3:00 p.m., a car struck a power pole and a tree on Blaker Road just south of Service Road.
The impact consequently ejected a 17-year-old male passenger from the vehicle. Authorities later declared him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, emergency responders also found two others inside the vehicle, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old. One of them was trapped and responders had to extricate him from the vehicle.
The three teens were all taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the those involved remain unreleased as of this time. However, the police department confirmed that they are local high school students.
It is still unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. However, investigators suspect speeding as a contributing factor in the deadly crash.
