1 Dead, 1 Injured in Riverside Car Accident
RIVERSIDE, CA (January 17, 2019) – A person died and one suffered injuries following a crash between a compact sedan and a pickup truck on 215 Freeway on January 14.
According to Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Todd Gooch, the incident occurred about 2:53 a.m. on the southbound freeway north of Central Avenue.
Gooch added that the driver of the majorly damaged compact sedan died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck which landed on its side was transported to a hospital after suffering injuries.
At 2:59 a.m., the CHP issued a SigAlert and closed the southbound freeway in the scene and closing the Martin Luther King Boulevard on-ramp to the southbound 215 to give way for the investigation and clean up.
