Passenger Dead in Collision of Two Vehicles near Hillswood Drive
FOLSOM, CA (June 7, 2019) – A passenger lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on Folsom-Auburn Road, late Friday morning. Authorities withheld her identity, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Folsom Police Department, the incident happened near Hillswood Drive, at about 10:45 AM. A southbound BMW sedan attempted to make a left turn when it collided with a northbound Ford Escape.
Unfortunately, a female passenger in the BMW died at the scene. Meanwhile, emergency responders transported the BMW driver to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. The driver of the Ford also sustained injuries, but it is unknown whether not they required hospitalization.
Police officers temporarily shut down affected areas to initiate an investigation and to make way for clearing operations.
Investigators ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
