Fiery Crash on Highway 74 Kills One and Injured Two in Palm Desert
PALM DESERT, CA (October 19, 2019) – One person was killed in a fiery crash on Highway 74, Saturday evening. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:30 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle went off the road before catching fire near Vista Point.
Emergency responders pronounced one person dead at the scene after being left trapped in the burning vehicle. Meanwhile, another victim suffered major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. An ambulance also transported a third person to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
