20-Year-Old Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on Valley Parkway in Escondido
Escondido, CA (September 30, 2021) – Wednesday night, a 20-year-old man died and three others sustained critical injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Valley Parkway.
The fatal crash in Escondido happened at around 11:43 p.m. on September 29, just south of Claudan Road.
The CHP said that a 17-year-old boy from Escondido drove a 2000 Honda Prelude and was traveling with four passengers, another 17-year-old boy, two 18-year-old boys, and a 20-year-old man.
Reportedly, the driver veered his car to the right and left the road. The Honda collided with a raised curb, light pole, and tree.
One of the passengers died.
Moreover, the 17-year-old driver and the other two passengers suffered major injuries and were taken to Palomar Medical Center.
One more passenger suffered major injuries and was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital.
CHP said alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the fatal crash.
Further investigation is ongoing.
