Motorcyclist Dead, Fighfighters Injured in Orange Crash near Collins Avenue and Roberto Street
ORANGE, CA (June 10, 2019) – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a fire truck near East Collins Avenue and Roberto Street Wednesday afternoon.
Additionally, three firefighters sustained minor injuries in the incident which occurred at around 4:40 p.m.
The Orange police said the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The rider died later in the hospital. At the same time, emergency responders also transported three firefighters to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigators said it was unclear whether the fire truck had lights and sirens blaring when it collided with the motorcycle.
Officers closed northbound Prospect Street at Bond Avenue. They also shut down eastbound Collins Avenue at Wanda Road during their investigation at the scene.
The CHP is handling the investigation. They urge any witnesses to the incident to contact them or the Orange Police Department.
