Three Critical after Fatal Crash on Interstate 8 in Alpine
Alpine, CA (June 3, 2021) – Thursday evening, a female passenger died after a fiery crash on eastbound Interstate 8.
The Alpine fatal crash happened at about 6 p.m. on June 3, west of Tavern Road.
The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Solara and GMC Sierra truck crashed into each other, causing them to lose control and rollover.
Moreover, the GMC truck rolled over in a steep embankment and landed on the eastbound side, sparking a small fire.
There were three occupants inside the truck. One of the female passengers wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck. The victim died at the scene.
The other female passenger and the male driver of the GMC truck were transported to the hospital with major injuries.
Meanwhile, the male driver in the Toyota also suffered major injuries.
Further investigation is ongoing.
