1 Dead and 3 Injured in Murrieta Car Accident
MURRIETA, CA (January 23, 2019) – A person died and three were taken to hospitals after a car crash on January 22 in Murrieta.
The incident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on Whitewood Road and Baxter Road. The said collision led to hours-long closure on a local thoroughfare while investigations are being conducted.
“One female adult passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional adult females and a juvenile were transported to local hospitals with various injuries,” the Murrieta police stated.
According to the police, one of the females who was taken to the hospital suffered serious injuries. The condition of the other two victims is still undisclosed as of this time.
Due to the incident, police shut down the northbound side of Whitewood at Linnel Lane and the southbound side at Midland Avenue for about four hours.
Despite the roadway being reopened on Tuesday evening, police stated an additional closure is necessary, advising:
“Due to this collision, The Murrieta Police Department will continue the investigation at this intersection on Wednesday, January 23rd. Plan to utilize another route as we anticipate closing the intersection on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, from approximately 9:30 am to about 12:30 pm.”
The female who was killed in the collision has not been publicly identified.
