Deadly Head-On Crash on Highway 152 in Hollister

 
HOLLISTER, CA (September 18, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were seriously injured following a violent head-on crash Wednesday morning in Hollister.
 
The crash happened just before 8:00 a.m. on Highway 152 at Lovers Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound when it crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit an eastbound Toyota Tacoma head-on.
 
As a result, the Toyota driver died at the scene, and a passenger in the truck suffered major injuries. The Ford driver was also seriously injured.
 
Officials did not release the identity of the deceased driver pending next of kin notification.
 
The crash closed a 10-mile stretch of Highway 152 in both directions for about three hours, between Bloomfield Avenue and Highway 156.
 
What caused the Ford driver to cross lanes is still under investigation.
